LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record in the Lakers' 133-130 loss against the OKC Thunder. "King James" did it in a hurry as he dropped 36 points, the tally he needed to break the record before the game with 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter. The NBA and Lakers had a small celebration right after he made the shot that sealed his spot as the NBA's all-time record scorer.

James thanked his family during his acceptance speech during the ceremony as well. He has been a family man through and through, carrying out his role as a husband, son, and father to the best of his abilities.

James has been nothing but grateful to everyone who has been with him during his 20-year journey in the NBA and the lead-up to him becoming the leading scorer. LeBron unhesitantly crediting the people that supported him is among the many traits that make him the ideal model citizen.

"King James" now has 38,390 career points. The four-time champion will get to add to his tally during the LA Lakers' next game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday (Feb 11th). He has been ruled out for Thursday's home contest against the Milwaukee Bucks due to a foot injury.
