Who are Moe Wagner's parents Beate Wagner And Axel Schulz? All you need to know

Orlando Magic forward Moe Wagner has garnered a lot of attention as of late. With the forward enjoying a bit of a family connection with his younger brother, Franz, on the Magic squad, we look at some details about his parents, Beate Wagner and Axel Schultz.

Moe Wagner was drafted by the LA Lakers late in the first round of the 2018 Draft. Wagner was a rather interesting prospect, having carved out quite a name for himself during his time with the Michigan Wolverines in college.

However, after two seasons with the Lakers, Wagner bounced around the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics. After the Celtics passed up on the team option on him in his third season, Wagner became a free agent. This charted out the path for him to join the Orlando Magic.

The move to the Magic may have been for the best, as he was briefly joined by his younger brother Franz, who was drafted last season. With the family connection going strong in Orlando, their parents, Beate Wagner and Axel Schultz, have played a big part in helping their children develop.

While Moe was the first child to go to the United States to play, Beate and Axel spent more time helping Franz prepare for his draft. Hailing from Berlin, Germany, Beate often makes trips to the US due to her occupation as a freelance medical writer. Not much is known about Axel Schultz in this regard.

Beate recently got to see her sons play against the Boston Celtics. In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, she spoke about the sentiment of watching her sons play together. She said:

"It’s very exciting. They played basketball for tons of years but never together. They played for the same club but never on the same team."

Having established roots in Berlin and the United States, Beate and Axel are undoubtedly proud parents of the young Wagner boys.

Moe Wagner has been solid for the Orlando Magic thus far

Although Franz Wagner has set himself apart as the star-caliber brother between the two, Moe Wagner has been quite productive this season. Moe has put up some great numbers as the starting forward for the Orlando Magic.

Moe has made huge strides since his early days with the Lakers. Given more minutes this season, Moe has put up an average of 12.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. Considering that he is often the fourth or fifth option on the team, these are impressive numbers.

The Orlando Magic have been a bit of an oddity as a unit this season. While the league tends to head in a guard-heavy direction, Orlando is making headway in a different direction. With a big-man-heavy lineup, the Magic feature three forwards and a center in their starting five.

Coming off a loss against the Detroit Pistons, the Magic have a lot to consider. In light of the altercation between Moe Wagner and Killian Hayes, the team may have to make some adjustments as Wagner's reputation follows him.
