Despite winning back-to-back MVPs the previous two seasons, Nikola Jokic may be having the best season of his career in 2022-2023. Prior to becoming one of the most talented players in the NBA, the Denver Nuggets star was born in Sombor, Serbia. While not much is known about his mother, Jokic's father, Branislav Jokic, was an agricultural engineer.
The five-time All-Star has two older brothers, Strahinja Jokic and Nemanja Jokic, who are often seen courtside at Nuggets games supporting their star brother. While Nikola was not initially into basketball and spent much of his youth riding horses, once he began to grow into his 6'11 frame, Branislav and his wife realized the potential that their son could have in the sport of basketball.
It is safe to say that Jokic's parents made the right choice as the four-time All-NBA selection has become one of the best players of the modern generation. Furthermore, Jokic has used his skills to obtain generational wealth as he has already earned a staggering $150 million.

How has Nikola Jokic fared in 2022-2023?
Nikola Jokic is having yet another strong season in 2022-2023. The two-time NBA MVP is averaging 24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, a career-high 10.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting a career-high 63.2% from the field, 39.1% from 3-point range and 82.2% from the free-throw line.
The Denver Nuggets star, who has won two previous MVP awards, maybe having the best all-around season of his career. In addition to averaging a triple-double, Jokic has had by far the most efficient campaign of his career. He is currently on pace to join Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and 2016-2017 MVP Russell Westbrook as the only players in NBA history to average a triple-double.
Jokic has led the Nuggets to a 41-18 record as they currently sit in first place in the Western Conference. The five-time All-Star has career averages of 20.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 55.1% from the field, 34.8% from 3-point range, and 82.9% from the free-throw line.
