"Whoever is in the gold medal game" - Steph Curry dishes hard-hitting reply to intricate Olympics matchup question

With his answer to one question, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry is ready to win his first gold medal in the Olympics. Team USA is preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics as they've already wrapped up their exhibition games and went 5-0.

For the Americans, winning the gold medal is their goal this year, much like in their previous Olympic appearances. They're looking forward to defending their gold medal and winning another. Even before NBA stars could join the tournament, Team USA showed its dominance by winning 16 gold medals.

Curry was asked about his upcoming participation in the Olympics, which is his first. Together with his former Warriors teammate, Kevin Durant, the two-time MVP was asked about his expectations for his upcoming Olympic appearance. A reporter asked the two stars about which game they'd set their eyes on, and the four-time champion had a hard-hitting reply.

"Whoever's in the gold medal game," Curry answered.

Team USA is confident in its ability to win its 17th gold medal. However, the players are expecting a challenge as they will face 65 NBA players in the Olympics. Given that the game has gone global, there are NBA-caliber talents from all over the world who will look to prevent the Americans from winning gold.

Steph Curry is excited for his first Olympic appearance

Team USA is lucky to have Steph Curry this year. Throughout his career, he's missed the chance to participate in the Olympics due to injuries and a busy schedule. While this is not his first rodeo playing for Team USA, his inclusion in this year's roster is something that he's excited about.

Marc Spears of Andscape interviewed Curry early in July, and the Warriors star shared his thoughts on playing in the Olympics.

"I did play for Team USA in 2010 and 2014 on the World Championship team," Curry said. "I missed out on the three Olympic opportunities I’ve had while I’ve been in the league. So, I’m excited about it. I have a little bit of FIBA experience. The team that we have is amazing. Paris, where the world competition of basketball is right now, there is no cake walk."

This also marks the first time Curry gets to play with LeBron James, not including the All-Star games. With the roster composed of superstars, champions and MVPs, Team USA might just go home with another gold medal.
