Why has Bryn Forbes been arrested? All you need to know about NBA free agent's arrest

Bryn Forbes, a seven-year NBA veteran who is now a free agent, was arrested on Wednesday on a misdemeanor family violence charge after reportedly hitting a woman.

The 6-foot-2 shooting guard, who spent five seasons of his professional career playing for the San Antonio Spurs, struck the woman several times. According to San Antonio Police, the NBA player is in a close relationship with the victim.

The shooting guard was apparently out with the victim when he became upset with her. This led to a fight and an eventual arrest.

Bryn Forbes was recently released by the Minnesota Timberwolves

Forbes signed a contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves last summer, but was recently released by the team. The shooting guard was waived shortly after the NBA trade deadline, which opened up a roster spot for Minnesota.

The shooting guard, who won a championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, is currently a free agent. Considering that he was recently arrested, he may not be signed anytime soon.

Bryn Forbes hit the woman a couple of times, causing severe injuries to her body. He was arrested shortly after, with the victim needing medical assistance.

The case is still under investigation and we will probably get more details very soon. However, this is not a good look for Forbes, who was hoping to get another contract in the NBA.

Forbes' NBA career

Forbes spent four seasons playing college basketball. In his first two seasons, the 6-foot-2 guard played for Cleveland State before transferring to Michigan State for two more seasons.

He went undrafted in 2016, but was signed by the San Antonio Spurs. Bryn Forbes had a relatively bad rookie season, but he took a huge leap in his third year in the league, averaging 11.8 points per game.
