"Why are you this petty bro?" - Charlamagne tha God reacts to Drake's leaked messages allegedly dragging LeBron James into cheating rumors
While LeBron James and Drake used to be close, the two have seemingly been at odds as of late amid the ongoing beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. After LeBron attended Kendrick's pop-up concert in LA last year, it started to appear as though a rift was forming between the two.
Early this week, a designer named Chris Blake Griffith posted some screenshots to his Instagram story showing what appears to be a DM from Drake.
In it, the popular artist makes a reference to LeBron James allegedly being unfaithful. He said that his spat with Universal Music Group would be like if Nike funded a campaign about LeBron cheating on his wife, meaning that the shot was akin to friendly fire.
While Drake has reportedly said that the DM is fake, online personality Charlamagne tha God isn't buying it.
In response, he and Comedian Andrew Schulz spoke about the situation on the latest episode of their Brilliant Idiots podcast, released on Saturday.
While discussing the falling out between LeBron James and Drake, and the artist's latest Fighting Irish freestyle, where Drake allegedly took aim at LeBron, Charmalagne said:
"For you to do this and come out and say, 'Hey don't make me tarnish your public image,' then saying something about LeBron cheating on his wife in a DM and then to hit [up] Akademiks and say it was fake, then post later and say, 'I thought this through,' why are you this petty bro?
"Why are you mad at LeBron because LeBron agreed with the rest of the world that you lost the battle."
Drake reportedly denies legitimacy of leaked DM taking aim at LeBron James
As previously mentioned, earlier in the week, LeBron James was on the receiving end of some shots from Drake, who rapped about the four-time NBA champ on a new freestyle. In addition to taking aim at James during the freestyle, the freestyle was named Fighting Irish freestyle, a reference to James' high school team.
Because of that, many fans believed that the alleged DM showing Drake accusing LeBron of cheating on his wife was real. Despite that, online personality DJ Akademiks posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying that the DM is fake.
While the post allegedly isn't legitimate, LeBron James has yet to respond to the shots from Drake on the Fighting Irish freestyle. Considering how close the two were before Drake's beef with Kendrick Lamar, it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
