Why did Savannah Chrisley and Luke Kennard break up?
About six years ago, Luke Kennard and Savannah Chrisley had a breakup that was all over social media. The former couple ended up in Splitsville after four months of dating.
Kennard and Chrisley went their separate ways in August 2017 just as the former Duke superstar was about to begin his NBA career. Here’s Chrisley on why the romance didn’t last long (via E News):
“The last 4 months I’ve been dating Luke have been great but as a young woman of faith I made the decision that with where Luke and I both are in our careers, it was best to part as friends rather than deal with the pressures of wondering if you are the only one.
“I was brought up to know my worth. I’m 20 now and so excited to live my life as beautifully as God intended.
Chrisley added that she “dodged a bullet” when it came to her previous relationship with Kennard. The erstwhile couple’s fans were intrigued by the somewhat cryptic choice of words when the split went viral.
It was only in November 2022 when the former Miss Tennessee USA winner revealed the real reason for the breakup.
On one of the episodes of the “Unlocked” podcast, Chrisley revealed that she caught Luke Kennard cheating on her. She added that she was on vacation in the Cayman Islands with her family when she allegedly discovered his deceitfulness.
Chrisley supposedly discovered messages on his Snapchat that could only mean that he was cheating on her. She did not put out a name, but her words could only mean Kennard’s then former girlfriend was the woman in question.
After splitting with Chrisley, Luke Kennard eventually rekindled romance with his ex-girlfriend, Anna Castro. The new couple re-ignited what they had with Kennard proposing to Castro on October 17, 2021. They ultimately sealed their vows on August 5, 2022.
Luke Kennard has been a big part of the LA Clippers’ success
The LA Clippers can only go as far as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George can take them. They’ve had their most success when the two superstars have been healthy.
That being said, Clippers head coach Ty Lue has assembled a deep roster that can play in almost any style. One of his biggest and most important weapons on the team is Luke Kennard.
Since signing with the Clippers in the summer of 2020, he’s been averaging 9.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists. The numbers may not be impressive, but when put into context as part of Leonard and George’s supporting cast, his value shines.
Luke Kennard is shooting 45.0% in 162 games for the LA Clippers. He led the entire NBA during the 2021-22 season with 44.9% from deep. Teams have been forced to keep an eye on him while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George do their stuff.
When “Cool Hand Luke” is on the floor, the lane opens up even for just a little bit for the Clippers’ two-way maestros.
Kennard has missed the Clippers' last five games due to a calf injury. It’s one of the reasons why Ty Lue’s squad has been struggling of late.
