“Will’s upset”: Kevin Durant issues witty retort to X user calling him ‘petty, insecure, little ignorant b*tch’
Team USA superstar Kevin Durant responded to an X (formerly known as Twitter) user calling him a ‘petty, insecure, little ignorant b*tch’ on Friday. Durant played an instrumental role in Team USA's 95-91 comeback win over Serbia in the 2024 Paris Olympics semifinal on Thursday.
After the game, Durant reacted to an X user, also a Denver Nuggets fan, applauding Serbia and Nikola Jokic for their lion-hearted effort against a star-studded Team USA.
"Serbia just took the most talented team in the history of the planet to the wire with a medal on the line. Team USA was a 16 point favorite. The whole country should be proud," an X user by the handle @SwipaCam wrote.
The three-time Olympic gold medalist Durant responded to the tweet in three words: "Where u from??"
Durant's reaction to the tweet didn't sit well with the scores of Denver fans. One of the X users, named @Will_d_jones, posted a couple of tweets and took a major swipe at the Team USA superstar.
"God KD just responded to Swipa for saying the country of Serbia should be proud. What a scumbag move," the X user wrote in his first tweet.
In his follow-up tweet, the Denver fan used stronger language to criticize Durant.
"Some people are saying me calling KD a scumbag was too harsh. So I’ll rephrase. He’s a petty, insecure little ignorant b*tch," the fan said.
The leading scorer in Olympic history for Team USA came up with a witty 2-word response.
"Will’s upset."
Kevin Durant addresses Denver Nuggets fans
Kevin Durant didn't stop there. The 35-year-old superstar followed up with another tweet, this time using sharper language to address a different Denver fan who accused him of double standards.
"To all you Nuggets fans, nobody gives a f*ck who yall lames believe is the best player in the league, players got major respect for Jok, we don’t worship him like yall do but most are in awe of his brilliance. Trolling you cornballs for rooting against us is apart of the game. Deal wit it," Durant wrote.
Nikola Jokic is widely considered the best player in the world. The reigning NBA MVP has led Serbia exceptionally in the ongoing Olympic Games and is in contention to win the MVP award. The three-time NBA MVP averages 18.8 points 10.4 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 2.2 steals and one block per game.
Meanwhile, Kevin Durant had a low-scoring game against Serbia and scored nine points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field. The two-time NBA champion made a clutch 2-point jump shot with 35 seconds remaining in the game. Durant's bucket extended Team USA's lead to four points at the 93-89 mark.
