"Woke up to this one too": Karl-Anthony Towns' girlfriend Jordyn Woods reacts to 3.6 magnitude earthquake in Malibu area

Like most players in the NBA, Karl-Anthony Towns and his girlfriend Jordyn Woods are spending their offseason in California. While the area has a lot of positives including great weather, the latter highlighted one of the concerning parts of spending time there.

Earthquakes are something that people who live on the West Coast have to deal with in their daily lives. Despite being a California native, it seems that it isn't something Woods is used to. Following a 3.6 magnitude earthquake in Malibu, she posted on Instagram that it was strong enough to wake her up from her sleep.

Karl-Anthony Towns' girlfriend is a model and social media influencer. Woods has been romantically involved with the All-Star center for four years, as they first started dating in 2020.

As for the Minnesota Timberwolves star, he is getting ready for his 10th NBA season. In a few weeks, he and the rest of the league will begin training camp.

Towns and the Timberwolves are coming off a very successful 2023-24 season. After finishing near the top of the Western Conference, they were able to reach the conference finals.

Alongside Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert, Towns will look to once again help Minnesota contend in a competitive Western Conference.

Karl-Anthony Towns named among top players at his position

As a seven-footer, Karl-Anthony Towns has played the center position for the majority of his NBA career. However, after the Minnesota Timberwolves traded for Rudy Gobert, he was forced to adapt.

The Wolves went against the grain of the modern NBA in 2023 by having a two-big lineup. Towns has made this transition easy because of his ability to space the floor. Since his game spans beyond the arc, he is able to play alongside Gobert without having spacing issues.

Despite only playing the position for two years, one player named Karl-Anthony Towns as a top power forward in the league. During a recent episode of his podcast, Patrick Beverley was asked to list his top five for the position. Along with Towns, he went with Draymond Green, Zion Williamson, Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Towns might have gotten a nod from Beverley because the two aren't far removed from being teammates. The journeyman guard spent the 2021-22 season in Minnesota.

Since moving to power forward, Town's production hasn't changed much. Last season, he averaged 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 41.6% from beyond the arc.

With his size and skill set, Towns certainly belongs in a conversation like this. However, there are superstar-level talents that Beverley did not mention, with Giannis Antetokounmpo (who he defined as positionless) being among the biggest names left off. Nonetheless, Towns has still been a star-level player at his new position.
