"Yea that trophy just slid to Philly"- NBA fans destroy Nikola Jokic after a horrendous performance against the Rockets
Nikola Jokic is having another fantastic season and is one of the MVP candidates. However, his Tuesday night's performance against the Houston Rockets was nothing but disastrous.
The Denver Nuggets center scored 14 points on 7-for-13 shooting, which isn't too bad. However, he turned the ball over eight times and caused his team to suffer a loss against the Rockets, the worst team in the Western Conference.
Joel Embiid, who is another MVP favorite, had a historically great performance for the Philadelphia 76ers. The MVP race may have been decided tonight, which is certainly what many fans think.
Nikola Jokic may have lost his MVP trophy to Joel Embiid
Both Jokic and Embiid are incredible players who deserve the MVP trophy. While the Denver Nuggets big man had an edge over his opponents for the bigger part of the season, the tide may have turned on Tuesday night.
The Nuggets ended up losing to the Houston Rockets by 21 points. Considering that Denver needed this win to strengthen the top spot in the West, this was an awful performance.
With Nikola Jokic losing against one of the worst teams in the league and Joel Embiid beating the Boston Celtics, many basketball fans think that the 76ers center is now a favorite for the MVP award.
Despite Jokic's fantastic performances, the Nuggets haven't been able to have a deep playoff run. Their biggest success in recent years was winning one game of the Western Conference Finals in 2020.

Considering how bad they've played lately, it won't be surprising if they suffer another disappointing fate in the postseason.
Some fans even believe that Jokic winning the MVP award would be a crime.
While Nikola Jokic struggled against the Rockets, Joel Embiid put on a fantastic show against the Boston Celtics. He finished the game with 52 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and two blocks, boosting his MVP chances.
The LA Lakers will likely face either the Nuggets or the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs. Some of them were scared of running into Jokic and Denver, but probably not anymore.
Jokic is an impressive offensive player, but his defense leaves much to be desired. Due to this, it's no surprise that the Rockets scored 124 points in their victory.
One thing that Nikola Jokic is also known for is for having impressive advanced stats. Unsurprisingly, some basketball fans made fun of this.
Both Jokic and Embiid have three games left in the regular season and it will be interesting to see how well they play in them.

However, considering that Embiid has averaged 32.7 points on 55.5% shooting since the All-Star break, he'll likely have a few more great performances that will solidify his MVP case.
