"You better stay here" - Steph Curry's alleged message to Klay Thompson after fiery celebration goes viralĀ
Steph Curry erupted in wild celebrations after putting the Warriors up 118-114 in Tuesday's game against Klay Thompson and the Mavericks. Curry was fired up and even prematurely hit the "night night" celebration and charged toward the defensive end with gestures to rile up the crowd.
In the heat of the moment, Curry was seemingly yelling something into the cameras, but at the time, nobody could figure it out. An X user named "LegendZ," who has frequently transcribed such videos, got the alleged audio of Curry's message.
"You better stay here, you better stay here," Curry seemingly said.
Curry yelled this as he beat his chest and pointed downwards. Another alleged audio revealed his chat with teammate Draymond Green, where Curry is heard saying:
"Stay here!"
Here's the video with Curry's alleged message:
Klay Thompson received tremendous love from the home crowd on his first game as an opponent at the Chase Center. However, his battle with Steph Curry on the court was highly competitive. The former backcourt partners even engaged in a back-and-forth.
Curry began the show by pointing at Thompson after his first 3-pointer of the night, which he hit over the Mavericks guard. Thompson then hit Curry's famous "shimmy" celebration after a second-quarter 3-pointer while Curry was on the bench.
The Warriors superstar stared him down after getting an and-1 floater to go in the second half, and the final exchange was the final 3 and the celebrations Curry hit following a lead-stretching 3-pointer.
Klay Thompson and the Mavericks had the upper hand with five minutes left as they took a 110-105 lead behind his 3-pointer. However, Curry took over in the clutch, going on a personal 10-0 run to ice the game in the final three minutes.
Draymond Green reveals reason behind Steph Curry's reaction after beating Klay Thompson
Steph Curry was "pissed" before Tuesday's homecoming for his former co-star Klay Thompson, and the Mavericks guard was the reason behind it. Draymond Green revealed the motivation for Curry to go off against Dallas, saying Thompson was responsible for what transpired.
Curry was supposed to give a speech to Thompson before the game, but the duo decided not to proceed. Green gave an in-depth reasoning about what "pissed" Curry on Wednesday's episode of his podcast, "The Draymond Green Show."
He said Thompson "ghosted" Curry after he tried to check on him about something else while discussing canceling his pre-game speech. That fueled Curry's fiery outing, and the rest was history.
The Warriors won 120-117 after Steph Curry made the final two free throws, and Luka Doncic missed the game-tying shot. Curry had 37 points, while Thompson finished with 22 in their first NBA matchup.
