Chris Bosh reflected on the ringless career of his former Miami Heat teammate after he returned to the basketball court on Saturday for the first time since 2016. The Heat legend had made a name for himself during his time in Miami as part of the team's big three, including Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.
He suited up once again to play in the farewell game of his former teammate Goran Dragic in Slovenia. After the game, the former Miami Heat star expressed his views on Dragic's career and relationship with him. Dragic bid his goodbye to basketball with the charity game that saw the likes of Dirk Nowitzki and Nikola Jokic take to the court.
"It's hard, it's really really hard. I think moments like this when you look on each bench, each person that comes out to support him, the fans that come out to support him. You can have a ring and still be a bad person, you know, and still have people not come out to support you," Bosh said.
Dragic and Bosh were a great duo for the Miami Heat during the late 2010s. The former member of the Heat Big Three said that Dragic being a point guard and him being a big man worked naturally and added an extra special layer to their relationship.
Chris Bosh retired from professional basketball in 2016. Meanwhile, Dragic remained active but was traded to the Toronto Raptors. The Slovenian player ended his NBA career in 2023 as a player for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Chris Bosh reveals reason for rejecting offers from EuroLeague teams
Chris Bosh's untimely retirement upset a lot of his fans eight years ago after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his lungs. So, seeing him play once again was a dream come true for many. However, Bosh did not play for any team even after recovering from his condition.
In an interview video posted by reporter Cesare Milanti on X on Saturday, Bosh revealed that he had offers from EuroLeague teams later in his career, but he rejected them. He also detailed the reason for rejection in the video.
"I actually had offers from Europe. But it was time. I wasn’t in a position where I wanted to up and move my family. I took it as a sign and moved on. Those offers? From France and Spain, in the EuroLeague," Bosh said.
Chris Bosh has had an illustrious career in the NBA, where he has cemented himself as one of the greats. He is a two-time NBA champion and an eleven-time NBA All-Star. However, his career was cut short because of a career-ending blood-clot condition.
