"You can’t keep lyin like this" - Kevin Durant claps back at fan's LeBron James reference to call out betting on KD's parlay

We're entering the end of an era in the NBA. Stars from the old guard, such as Kevin Durant and LeBron James, are most likely approaching the sunset of their careers, with younger players taking the torch right off their hands.

We saw that happening last season in the playoffs. Anthony Edwards went toe-to-toe with Durant, talked trash to his face, and raved about sending him home. The veteran, far from taking offense in any of that, embraced Edwards as an up-and-coming star.

Unfortunately, Father Time is ruthless and spares no victims, and he's won his bout with KD multiple times over the past three years or so. That's why a fan didn't waste an opportunity to call him out for missing games.

The fan took to X to praise LeBron James -- who claimed that he heard one fan urging him to grab another rebound to cash a bet and later pointed at him when he grabbed it -- and then took a jab at Durant by claiming that this was why no one placed wagers on his player props.

The Phoenix Suns star, true to his nature, didn't hesitate to hit back at the fan, urging him to stop lying:

"U can't keep lying' like this on the internet," typed Durant.

Kevin Durant will miss at least two weeks

According to the latest reports, the two-time NBA champion is looking at two weeks on the shelf at the very least. He's already missed one game for the Suns since being diagnosed with a left calf strain.

Calf injuries are quite tricky and can lead to more serious ailments, as Durant found out the hard way years ago. They could lead to Achilles injuries, and another major injury could be a serious threat to his career at this point, so the team will be wise to err on the side of caution with this issue.

He had been playing at an MVP-caliber level for Mike Budenholzer's team. Through nine games, he averaged 27.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 2.7 3-pointers per game on 55/42/83 shooting splits.

The new-look Suns are currently sitting on a promising 8-2 record and have looked much better with a traditional point guard and a new coach this time around, and it'll be interesting to see how they manage to weather the storm with their leading scorer missing time with an injury.
