"You not like that": Lonzo Ball reveals his biggest trash-talk moment in the NBA
Lonzo Ball shared his biggest trash-talk moment in the NBA, and it involved Golden State Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green. The guard recalled the incident that occurred between him and the four-time NBA champion during Ball's time with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2021 and vividly remembered what Green told him when they were going at it.
Speaking on 'The WAE Show', Ball started by saying Green was barking at him, and that the then-Pelicans star was already in his mode.
"When I tap in I had scored on somebody. I was like a 'too-little' type and Draymond was like 'You not like that'. We kept going. I was in a good rhythm that game."
The incident occurred during the Pelicans vs Warriors skirmish on May 4, 2021. With 3:35 to go in the second quarter, Ball drained a corner three over Juan Toscano-Anderson to see him up his numbers to 4-5 from beyond the arc. Soon after he landed that shot, he went at Green with the forward, shooting right back at him.
Times have changed for Ball since. He spent two seasons with New Orleans before being traded to the Chicago Bulls in a sign-and-trade deal. He inked a four-year, $85 million deal with the team and was part of the new-look side comprising Nikola Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Alex Caruso.
Now, he continues to recover after undergoing surgery on his knee and is hopeful to play on opening night for the Bulls. Only time will tell if Lonzo Ball can return to top form after missing significant time on the floor.
Lonzo Ball cleared for 5-on-5 practice, says his 'real test' starts August when he ramps up court work
The Chicago Bulls fans had something to smile about when Lonzo Ball provided a positive update on his injury. On his podcast, he said he was cleared for 5-on-5.
"My first real test, I feel like, will be this August when I play 5-on-5 for the first time. But it's so far so good, everything has been going well."
The 26-year-old went under the knife with multiple surgeries on his knee. He revealed in May this year that his meniscus had been torn enough times that the procedure involved receiving a donor meniscus. He hasn't played since Jan. 2022.
Lonzo Ball averaged 13.0 points, 5.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per contest on 42.3/42.3/75.0 shooting splits in his last season with Chicago. This season, he will be part of another new-look side and will be counted on for his leadership and experience.
