"You merely adopted the dark" - Jaylen Brown channels iconic villain's quote on IG as fuel for 2024-25 NBA season
After a championship-winning season with the Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown is ready to defend his team's crown and collect more silverware against 29 teams keen to dethrone the C's. The veteran swingman has kept an intriguing mindset ahead of the 2024-25 season, using uncommon training techniques and sending messages to fans and opponents on social media.
The most recent of those messages came on Thursday, as Brown took to Instagram and shared a Bane line from the 'The Dark Knight Rises' movie.
"You merely adopted the dark I was born in it," Brown captioned a post that included a series of pictures of himself and one of Tom Hardy portraying the iconic villain.
Bane said this phrase when talking about his upbringing compared to Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman. It's unclear if Brown was referring to somebody with this caption, but you can tell he's adopted a mentality of proving people wrong even after becoming an NBA champion for the first time in his career.
He's surprised several fans in recent days, especially after he shaved his beard, leading fans to speculate about the reason behind the move. In the meantime, Brown is preparing for a season where he, Jayson Tatum and company will have a target on their backs.
Jaylen Brown showed unique training methods during the offseason
After becoming NBA champions, several Boston Celtics players went on vacation to cool off after a demanding season. Jaylen Brown did the same, but he didn't forget to share his new training methods for next season. The wing showed he was training underwater but did not give details about the purpose of the workout.
He also posted an edit of his face on Jason Momoa's body, seemingly calling himself 'Aquaman' after all the aquatic workouts.
Jaylen Brown comes off a season in which he proved that he can have a key role in his team's success. He won both Eastern Conference and NBA Finals MVP honors while leading the C's to beat Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in the championship series. He finished the postseason averaging 23.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 19 games.
Despite losing a key piece in Al Horford, the Celtics remain a favorite to win it all next season.
