"You're a volleyball mom" - 3x WNBA champion lauds Savannah James for balancing parenting & daughter Zhuri’s volleyball goals
LeBron James' wife Savannah James has been a devoted mother to her children. The wife of the LA Lakers star not only dedicated her life to raising her children the right way, but she has also balanced a lot of things with it in life. This includes giving her unwavering support to her daughter Zhuri's basketball career.
On Sunday, Nov. 24, Savannah James posted a video of her daughter playing volleyball. Savannah started her day at 6 AM and was in attendance for her daughter's basketball game. She also made a post on her Instagram profile, featuring her daughter.
"Back at it, in a new way!!!🏐💕 6am start this beautiful Sunday🥴 Let’s go @allthingszhuri!! #WeAreCity💙".
Savannah got major props from three-time WNBA champion Candace Parker. In the comments section, Parker called Savannah a "volleyball mom" and welcomed her to the gang.
"Yeaaaaaaa u r a volleyball mom!!! Welcome! It’s not for the weak😂😂😂 early starts ALWAYS😫."
Parker's daughter Lailaa is also a high school volleyball player. Last year, Parker told Essence that after her retirement, she would follow her daughter Lailaa wherever her career took her.
Savannah James hopes for her children getting 'called up' for Olympics
LeBron James has represented Team USA four times in the Olympics and won three gold medals and a bronze. While James traveled with his team to different countries for the competition, it also gave his family an opportunity to travel the world with him.
Earlier this year, when James and his family traveled to Paris, they stayed a bit longer. Given that this was the NBA superstar's last Olympics, it would be a few years before Savannah would get the time to take a foreign trip.
In one of the episodes of her podcast "Everybody's Crazy" on Nov. 19, Savannah James spoke about possibly traveling to another country with her children playing in the Olympics.
"Looking at the fact that this would be the last time that we would have an experience where their dad would be playing in the Olympics or anybody," Savannah said. "Until maybe Bronny gets called up, or Bryce gets called up, or maybe even Zhuri playing volleyball. But yeah, that’s the last time for a while. We'll be spectators up until then."
Savannah James' oldest son, Bronny James, is already in the NBA. However, he is still struggling to get himself a regular roster spot in the LA Lakers lineup. Bryce James, the second son of the NBA superstar, will be eligible for the NBA Draft in 2026.
Zhuri Nova is already showing her skills in volleyball. With all her children trying for excellence in sports, it wouldn't be surprising if someday, Savannah and LeBron James sit among the spectators at the Olympics.
