“You see how small the margin of error is for Lakers” – Shannon Sharpe is keeping faith in LA Lakers after their decent road trip wins

The LA Lakers started out the 2022-23 NBA season with five consecutive losses. It looked as if the team was quickly heading towards another nightmare season.

After the Lakers found themselves at 2-10, many were wondering if the season was all but lost. The Lakers had injuries piling up and didn't look to have the roster to compete. But that's when things quickly started to turn around.

The LA Lakers went on to win eight of their next 10 games. Fast forward to today, and the Lakers find themselves at 11-15. It's a remarkable turnaround for a team that was extremely disappointing to start the season. Superstar forward Anthony Davis has been absolutely sensational this year.

On "Undisputed," analyst Shannon Sharpe said he's encouraged by the Lakers' recent play. Sharpe said the team was impressive in its recent road trip, although he thought they should have finished 4-2 instead of 3-3.

"I'm slightly encouraged because they finished .500 and should've finished 4-2 with a Philly win," Sharpe said.

Sharpe went into detail about how the Lakers have been getting sensational play from Davis and LeBron James. Despite the impressive play, Sharpe says the Lakers have struggled to generate separation in games.

"You see how small the margin of error is for Lakers?" Sharpe said.
How optimistic should Lakers fans feel after a 3-3 road trip?

It's been a fantastic turnaround for the LA Lakers during the 2022-23 season. With the recent improved play of the roster, the Lakers are now looking like a team that can make a serious run toward the NBA playoffs.

But as Shannon Sharpe said, there's minimal room for error with this team. Superstar big man Anthony Davis has been playing at an MVP-caliber level. In his last seven games, Davis has averaged 31.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. He's shooting 65.8%, including 50.0% from 3-point range, during that stretch

LeBron James continues to play at an efficient level as well. In his last six games, James has averaged 27.8 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 6.7 assists per game. James is shooting 50.0%, including 39.0% from 3-point range, during that span.

After a daunting road trip, the LA Lakers will now look to take care of business at home. They will start a three-game homestand on Tuesday night as they welcome in the Boston Celtics. The Lakers will then take on the Denver Nuggets on Friday and Washington Wizards on Sunday.
