"You haven't seen my b**bs and won't ever": Taylor Rooks hits back at trolls who criticize her for apparent wardrobe malfunction

Sports media personality Taylor Rooks pushed back against social media trolls who criticized her for an apparent wardrobe malfunction at the 2024 GQ Global Creativity Awards, in New York. A video of her on the red carpet, wearing an outfit deemed too revealing by many, has gone viral, sparking criticism against her.

She addressed and defended herself against the online backlash in a recent conversation with fellow sports personality Joy Taylor on an episode of the Two Personal Show on YouTube

She highlighted the unfairness and discomfort of being targeted as a woman for their fashion choices. The 31-year-old sports journalist said:

'Number one, you (trolls) are incorrect. You haven't seen my b**bs and you won't ever. But number two, how interesting and confining it is that if a woman did decide to take a fashion risk and bare that, that she would automatically and immediately go from being what you consider classy to just not being classy off of one personal choice on one night."

She went on to say that such a mindset was also akin to looking down at women, saying:

"It's a very fickle, dense, and lazy idea that we have of women and how much power we give their bodies, that we believe the choices that women make symbolize something about them, as opposed to that just being what they wanted to do that day."

Taylor Rooks is proud of the sports journalist she has become

Taylor Rooks has been in the sports media industry for a while now and is proud of the work she has done and the journalist that she has become.

She credits her development as a journalist to her background as an athlete, which allows her to have a better perspective of the sports she covers and relate to what athletes have to deal with.

Rooks shared this in an interview with hoop(ish), a show by SLAM and LeagueFits, back in February, saying:

"I think that knowing so personally how difficult it is to be an athlete, kind of make me not be like the kind of person that thinks I know more about playing the sport than them."

She added:

"My style is I know what I'm talking about. I watch the game, I know the personnel, I know the players. I understand the things that make them tick, what they are interested in, and that is how I try to approach the way I discuss sports."
