Zion Williamson and Paolo Banchero flex unread text messages along with other NBA stars
New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson usually flexes after dunking the ball, but he's flexing about something entirely different in a recent video for Overtime. On Wednesday, X footage showed Williamson with other stars, like Orlando's Paolo Banchero, bragging about how many unread messages they have on their phones.
In the social media age, texting is almost an afterthought for most people, especially the younger generation. However, Williamson and Banchero are part of the new generation that grew up with social media but aren't used to texting.
Both stars, along with Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum, were asked to show how many unread messages they had.
"Wow, I have 655 unread messages," Williamson laughed. "I am [always in the triple digits]. There was a time where I kind of like, took pride in, I don't want to see no number there. But after a while, you got so many group messages and stuff, it's hard to keep up."
Banchero, meanwhile, admitted that he's not used to texting and had more unread messages than the Pelicans star.
"2,353," Banchero checked his phone. "I tell people all the time, I'm a bad texter. If you wanna really get ahold of me, you probably gotta call me."
Doncic didn't bother checking his phone and assumed he had several unread messages. Tatum, on the other hand, only had 57 unread messages.

Zion Williamson is on a Brand Jordan tour with other athletes
Zion Williamson is on tour with Doncic, Banchero and Tatum. The Jordan Brand members are taking a "China Family Tour" with thier fellow brand athletes. The elite group enjoyed stops at Jordan World of Flight Beijing Sanlitun, the Next Stop Dongdan streetball tournament finals and several youth basketball camps.
The NBA stars also visited the Great Wall of China. During their time at the landmark, Williamson enjoyed it enough to state he would visit it often if he lived nearby.
"I would at least try to come here once a week if I lived here," Williamson said. "You can be dealing with anything, if you come out here, this is peace. This is what peace looks like."
The athletes also enjoyed a friendly pickup game with a few Chinese basketball fans. To the awe of onlookers, Williamson caught a lob pass from Doncic, which led to a thunderous dunk.
