Nike sponsors Bryant's campaign to inspire young athletes in China
Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who is recuperating from an Achilles tear, has been sponsored by Nike on his tour to China. His tour includes eight local destinations with stops in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xi’An, and finally, Shanghai on Thursday.
Bryant looks forward to pass on the message of inspiration, encouragement and Mamba Mentality to the young athletes, as his journey from recovery has dazzled fans all over the globe and he is even sure of disappointing the estimated recovery time.
Bryant’s tour includes him visiting various basketball courts in each city to see players who have listened to the call to come out and play basketball at night. Attending Nike Summer Nights events in Hong Kong, Xi’An and Shanghai, as well as the cross-category sports activations as part of Nike China’s Ignite Shanghai program are also a part of his tour.
Bryant will be visiting iconic urban landmarks, historical sights and inspirational architectural locations, including Hong Kong’s Star Ferry and the Peak, apart from various local sights during his eight day long tour.
“Fireworks” colorway of the KOBE 8, as well as the latest version of his China-only Dream Season V will also be launched during this tour. The Dream Season V is available widely at China retail stores whereas the KOBE 8 “Fireworks” is available in limited quantity.
Nike Greater China, through its JUST DO IT campaign will motivate and inspire young athletes to play more sports and be physically active through this effort.
