Oklahoma City Thunder Preview
The Oklahoma City Thunder are coming off an impressive win over the talented Philadelphia 76ers' side, and their moving parts seem to be falling in place. The team is shooting over 45% from the field and scoring a respectable 104.5 points per game.
Currently positioned as the 10th seed out West, OKC have a lot of work of to do if they see themselves as surefire playoff contenders. Fortunately for them, they seem to be headed in the right direction.
Key Player - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has broken out of his shell in the Thunder uniform. The 21-year-old has almost doubled his scoring average, via an efficient 46% shooting from the field so far.
With veterans like Danilo Gallinari and Chris Paul in the lineup, the youngster is leading the team with an average of 20.4 points per contest. He is pulling down 5.5 boards per matchup and making 40% of his three-point shots as well.
Playing over 35 minutes per game, the sophomore has a golden opportunity to show the Clippers what they lost when they traded him.
Thunder predicted lineup
Danilo Gallinari, Steven Adams, Chris Paul, Terrence Ferguson, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Los Angeles Clippers Preview
Coach Doc Rivers and his staff are taking all the necessary precautions with Kawhi Leonard now that they have Paul George to cover for him. The Los Angeles Clippers were already a playoff team even without the couple of All-Stars, and have only got scarier now.
Even with no Kawhi available against the Atlanta Hawks, the Clippers managed to register a 49-point blowout victory, riding behing PG's 37 points. The team's ordinary 8-5 win-loss record barely reflects what they are capable of.
Key Player - Paul George
Paul George has already racked up 70 points in two games so far, while playing a combined total of just 44 minutes. His most recent show of 37 points in 20 minutes against Atlanta made him the first NBA player to score that many in fewer than 21 minutes.
The reigning MVP finalist has been showing no visible signs of rust after missing 11 regular season games, as he works his way into the Clippers scheme of things on both ends of the floor.
Clippers predicted lineup
Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Maurice Harkless, Ivica Zubac, Terance Mann
Thunder vs Clippers Match Prediction
Despite OKC being a relatively better shooting unit, the Clippers just possess way too much talent to falter down the stretch. Their roster is gushing with professional bucket-getters, and they are more likely to close this one out in dominant fashion at home.
