A ‘travelling’ violation in basketball occurs when a player takes two or more steps without dribbling or moves his pivot foot illegally.
NBA rules are a little more lenient, and allow three steps.
However, Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade got away with an outrageous 7-step travel without getting called in a game against the Portland Trailblazers on 28th December 2013.
