Pharrell Williams' 'Happy' doesn't get a happy response from NBA 2K15 fans

Remember when that song was actually decent to listen too? A question that keeps popping up whenever you hear the much-heard opening lines of Pharrell Williams’ song, ‘Happy’. Quite enjoyable at first, but after many, many playbacks, the tune kind of gets to you these days. And that is what dismayed fans of NBA 2K15 after Pharrell was chosen to make the soundtrack for the game. However, fans will be happy to know that the song will not be featured in NBA 2K15.

Ever since 2K Sports released that Pharrell Williams would curate the soundtrack for NBA 2K15 and select all the songs that are to be included in the game, fan reception has been mixed. Some fans responded enthusiastically, pleased with the decision. NBA legend Shaq O’neil, even went to the extent of making a rap for him. However, many were troubled thinking that the game would all feature his own songs. As for “Happy”, a song that is already beginning to annoy many with it’s numerous playbacks, it would only make many gamers hate it if it were featured in NBA 2K15.

However we can be sure that the track is not included. All thanks to NBA 2K15′s community manager Ronnie2K, who confirmed its absence on Facebook and Twitter:

He had initially jested that the catchy tune would be in NBA 2K15, but some fans took it seriously and were not pleased about this. Fortunately for everyone, the joke shall remain a joke and gamers don’t have to put up the song while playing the game. Hopefully Pharrell will choose some decent tracks.

Last year, LeBron James picked out the NBA 2K14′s soundtrack but made the bad decision of putting the song, “Blurred Lines” in the soundtrack. It’s mainly Robin Thicke’s song, although Pharrell also features in that song. Either way, it didn’t do so great with the gamers and many NBA 2K14 players muted the song.
