Luka Doncic’s fiancee Anamaria Goltes and their daughter Gabriela, were at the American Airlines Arena on Thursday. Goltes brought their 10-month-old baby for the Dallas Mavericks’ season-opening game against the Victor Wembanyama-led San Antonio Spurs. After the game, the model shared a story on Instagram showing a photo of herself and Gabriela watching the game.
The mother and daughter were in a suite watching the crowd give the Mavericks a standing ovation following a 120-109 win against the Spurs. Doncic orchestrated the win with 28 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and one steal. The All-NBA guard engineered the majestic 19-5 blast to start the fourth quarter to give the Mavs their first win of the season.
Anamaria Goltes and Gabriela’s presence in the arena was not a surprise. They attended a handful of Luka Doncic’s games last season. The two even traveled to Los Angeles in the playoffs to cheer for the NBA’s reigning scoring champ against the Clippers.
Luka Doncic gave his family and Mavericks fans a show
Luka Doncic did not play due to a leg contusion in the Dallas Mavericks’ preseason games. Many on social media wondered if he was in shape to start the season. Before the game against the San Antonio Spurs, he told reporters that the Mavs were being extra cautious in preseason which was why he didn’t play.
The Slovenian started with back-to-back missed 3-pointers before committing a turnover. Spurs forward Julian Champagnie also rejected his four-foot floater. But "Luka Legend" gained his rhythm as the game progressed.
Luka Doncic’s offense started to hum in the second half. He had eight points and dished a couple of assists to give the Mavericks an 87-80 lead before the fourth quarter. The start of the final period was when he put on a show. In Dallas’ 19-5 run, he scored nine points and dished out three assists to break the game open.
Doncic’s third triple during that span pushed the home team’s lead to 103-83, prompting the crowd to give a standing ovation as Anamaria Goltes saw her fiance and Gabriela’s father put on a show in front of the Mavericks fans.
