Pistons Trade Rumors Roundup, 26th January: Reggie Bullock on the move?
The Detroit Pistons currently find themselves at the ninth spot in a weaker Eastern Conference this season and this should be a concern for all the Motor City fans. Blake Griffin has been their best player and is arguably playing the best basketball of his career to date.
Averaging a career-high 26.3 points on a hot 48.1% shooting from the floor, he's also getting 8.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game too.
Andre Drummond - the walking double-double, continues to dominate opposition players in the paint and is averaging a double-double for the sixth consecutive year. With 14.9 rebounds per game, he leads the league in rebounds per game so far.
Although the duo of Blake and Andre are performing exceptionally well, the Pistons have so far been unable to capitalise. They are the league's worst team in three-point shooting and are in desperate need of consistent shooters from deep.
Ish Smith (groin) has not featured regularly this term and they are currently without a reliable back-up point-guard. Reggie Jackson's game has also declined a little, which only adds insult to injury.
There is one player besides the aforementioned Blake-Drummond duo who has performed exceptionally well this season, the wing Reggie Bullock. For the Pistons to acquire any good players before the trade deadline on February 7, it's looking increasingly likely that they will need to ship Bullock off - as many teams could utilise his terrific skillset.
Averaging career-high scoring numbers, he's been one of the Pistons' most reliable performers this season and any fan-trade machine you see will likely have Bullock a part of it, which speaks for itself.
With that in mind, Pistons writer Rob Beard had something interesting to say on the situation:
Do you think the Pistons will hold firm or make significant moves at the trade deadline, considering they still harbour genuine Playoff hopes this season. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
