Ranking Top 5 Steph Curry's shoes under his deal with Under Armour

Golden State Warriors legend Steph Curry started his career wearing Nike shoes before signing a deal with Under Armour in 2013. Curry's early career was marred by ankle injuries, which factored in his decision to switch shoe brands.

The four-time champion's initial contract earned him $4 million per year. When his popularity skyrocketed, his annual deal reportedly became around $20 million. Curry's current contract is set to expire in 2024, but he's set to sign a reported $1 billion lifetime deal.

The relationship between Curry and Under Armour was on the rocks in 2018, but the two sides agreed to make it work. Since Curry has joined the brand, Under Armour has grown exponentially.

The Curry 9 has been described as the best Under Armour shoe and one of the best shoes in the market. Known for its perfect traction and stability, the Curry 9 is best suited for guards and indoor players. The only con for this shoe is that its not meant to be used on outdoor courts.

Released on Nov. 19, 2021, the Curry 9 has several collorways. Under Armour collaborated with Sesame Street to release colorways for characters like Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and The Count.

These shoes were also worn by Steph Curry when he broke the NBA's 3-point record.

#2 Curry 8

Some of the most iconic colorways for the Curry 8 include "Butter Flow," "Dub Nation," "Oakland Forever," "We Believe," "Gold Blooded" and "Pi Day." Steph Curry exclusively wore Curry 8s during the 2020-21 season.

The Curry 2 was released on Oct. 24, 2015. It was an improvement from the Curry 1 and as usual, traction is its best attribute. Under Armour also introduced Charged Cushioning for these shoes, and it was an upgrade. However, Under Armour was criticized for the lack of creativity of the Curry 2's design.

The Curry 2 "Chef" was heavily mocked on social media upon its release. Steph Curry was fresh off winning his first MVP and championship, and Under Armour should have done better.

The first batch of colorways for the Curry 3 was influenced by the Golden State Warriors and the Bay Area. The line also had the all-grey "Grey Matter" colorway and the all-black "Trifecta Black."

The Curry 1 is Steph Curry's first signature shoe for Under Armour. It was released on Feb. 13, 2015 and has been called one of the best first signature shoes of any player ever. The Curry 1 has great traction, fit and cushion, but was not suited for big and taller players.

Some of the iconic colorways for the Curry 1 include "Candy Reign," "Underdog," "Home" and "MVP." "Candy Reign" was inspired by Curry's love for Sour Patch Kids, while "Underdog" came from Steph's story as an underdog from Davidson. "Home" was in honor of the Golden State Warriors and "MVP" was limited edition black and white shoe.
