Curry expected to miss more games

What's the story?

The Golden State Warriors announced on Tuesday that point guard Stephen Curry is still recovering from a right ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in one week.

In case you didn't know...

The 2-time MVP tweaked his ankle in the first quarter of the Warriors 110-107 win over the San Antonio Spurs on March 8th.

The heart of the matter...

The Dubs have announced that Curry would not be playing for another week as he is still recovering from a right ankle tweet. Curry’s ankle has been bothering him since December and it just took another hit as he twisted it again after an awkward landing while going for a lay-up.

Based on the upcoming timetable, Curry would be missing at least the next four games. The good news for the Warriors is that only one of the four teams that they are scheduled to play have a winning record, the Spurs.

Quinn Cook has been given the responsibility of the point guard position to provide some quality minutes alongside Klay Thompson.

Kevin Durant told the reporters on Sunday, “Without Steph there, Quinn is asked to do a lot, so it’s definitely a different dynamic when you have, [as] opposed to Steph Curry, when you’re having Quinn Cook. He’s doing a good job stepping in and playing extremely hard, and I’m proud of him.”

What's next?

Curry is going to be re-evaluated on March 20.

Despite spectacular performance from Kevin Durant in the last two outing, the Warriors have lost both the matches. They host the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.

Author's take

Steph Curry should take all the time required for that ankle to heal. A struggling Curry in the Playoffs would be much more devastating for the Warriors than ending the season with the 2nd Spot in the Western Conference.
