Angel Reese shows leadership as she reaches out to Sky execs on team needs: Report

Women's basketball has skyrocketed in value in recent years, with Angel Reese being one of the biggest names driving the popularity of the sport. The Chicago Sky star, who made a name at LSU in the collegiate circuit, is one of the most marketable names in the WNBA and has garnered considerable attention for her on and off-court achievements and activity.

Having been named an All-Star in 2024, the future of the Sky is heavily dependent on the "Bayou Barbie" and recent reports suggest that Angel Reese has been taking the initiative to drive the Sky forward.

Reese, who plays for Rose BC in Unrivaled, has reportedly suggested ways to the Sky management to drive the team towards success.

"Reese said she has texted Sky executives about what she has had access to and what she believes the team needs to implement moving forward," reported Kendra Andrews for ESPN in her piece on 'Unrivaled'.

While Unrivaled was spurred by a vision to provide additional financial incentives and exposure for WNBA players, Angel Reese's actions demonstrate that other positive conversations are being driven by the league. The league promises an average salary of $200,000 to the players while also providing them with access to high-end facilities for training and recreation.
