Did Caleb Love and RJ Davis beef over a girl? Debunking love triangle rumors between two North Carolina teammates
North Carolina was ranked preseason number one and was poised for a big season. Instead, the Tar Heels were inconsistent and missed the NCAA Tournament. It has been a disappointing season. Now, North Carolina's team will not look the same next season.
Star guard Caleb Love entered the transfer portal and announced that he will play for Michigan next season. Fellow star guard R.J. Davis is returning to Chapel Hill alongside Armando Bacot. Now, rumors are swirling that Love and Davis may have had issues off the court that led to Love’s transfer and may have played a part in the team’s disappointing season.
KentSports on TikTok posted a video showing how the Cameron Crazies at Duke were heckling Davis and Love, using chants that alleged Love hooked up with Davis’ girlfriend. Davis’ girlfriend is rumored to be a player on the women’s basketball team at UNC. These, of course, are just internet rumors shared by an account on TikTok.
Another college sports pundit with Barstool Sports, Jack McGuire, reported that the rumors were not true and the two teammates had no issues during the season.
Furthermore, both Love and Davis tweeted claiming the rumors were not true and that everything was good between the two star players.
