Golden State Warriors Rumors: Warriors on their 'Last Dance' season if Bob Myers leaves this summer

The Golden State Warriors remain inconsistent heading into the final 24 games of the season. The Warriors are currently No. 9 in the Western Conference standings with a 29-29 record. The latest rumors suggest that this could be the "Last Dance" season for the Warriors dynasty.

Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area revealed that there are concerns within the Warriors that this could be their "Last Dance" season. Poole pointed out the possibility of general manager Bob Myers leaving this summer. It's a bigger factor than Draymond Green opting out and becoming a free agent.

"There is some concern within the Warriors that this could be the 'Last Dance,'" Poole said. "This could be it for them because not all three of those guys (Steph Curry, Steve Kerr and Bob Myers) are guaranteed to come back next year. If Bob were to leave, I know Steve would be devastated and Steph will be unhappy.
"That's why the pressure is on Joe (Lacob) to figure this thing out and decide what he wants to do. Bob is the guy who grew up in the Bay Area, he likes being with the Warriors."

Sam Amick, Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic reported last month that Bob Myers wants a huge payday. However, the Golden State Warriors have been reluctant to give Myers an extension despite everything he has done for the team since 2011.

If Myers decides to leave the Warriors, there won't be any shortage of suitors for his services. The Athletic noted that teams such as the LA Clippers, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards are interested in Myers.

Golden State Warriors could also lose top assistant coach and Draymond Green

Bob Myers is not the only one the Golden State Warriors could lose after the season. The Warriors are also in danger of losing Draymond Green and assistant coach Kenny Atkinson.

Green can opt out of his contract and become a free agent. Given everything that happened in the offseason, his time at Golden State could be coming to an end. Teams such as the LA Lakers, Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericks have already been linked to the former Defensive Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Atkinson is one of the top coaches the Atlanta Hawks are looking at following the dismissal of Nate McMillan. Atkinson previously coached the Brooklyn Nets and was hired as the Charlotte Hornets head coach last season before backing out.
