Lakers Trade Rumors: Bronny James could follow dad LeBron James in major blockbuster deal

The Los Angeles Lakers' recent skid has seen the team go 3-7 in their last ten. Amidst this, there have been some whispers that LeBron James and his team could revisit the idea of pushing for a trade to Golden State.

According to ClutchPoints Senior Lakers insider Anthony Irwin, if James were to request a trade, the Lakers would work with him to land him wherever he wants to go. He also cited sources close to the Lakers while discussing the situation. He said that if James were to get traded, Bronny James would likely wind up getting traded alongside LeBron.

Irwin's article also cited sources who believe General Manager Rob Pelinka will inquire about Jonas Valenciunas' availability when his trade restrictions expire on Dec. 15.

The big question, of course, is whether or not there's any truth to the rumors that LeBron James' team is entertaining the idea of a trade to Golden State. Last season, according to longtime insider Marc Stein, Golden State was interested in potentially acquiring James, but Rich Paul and Co. squashed the talks.

If the latest reports are to be believed, with LA sitting in eighth place in a competitive Western Conference with a 13-11 record, the situation may have changed.

Brian Windhorst pushes back on narrative that LeBron James wants to leave LA

NBA Insider Brian Windhorst may very well be the foremost expert when it comes to LeBron James news. In addition to covering James from high school, he has correctly reported some of the biggest stories surrounding James' career.

During an episode of "NBA Today" over the weekend, Windhorst weighed in on the rumors that LeBron James doesn't want to be in LA. While there's been talk of the future Hall of Famer uniting with Steph Curry and Draymond Green in Golden State, Windhorst isn't sold on the reports.

"Twice in the last 10 months, LeBron has had an opportunity to leave the Lakers," he said. "Once last year at the trade deadline when the Warriors called, the Lakers came to LeBron and said no. He did not go forward with that.
"And then in the summer, he was an unrestricted free agent, and he told the Lakers, 'I will take less money if you can build this roster up'. They did not build the roster up, and he still resigned. So I've seen LeBron twice have opportunities to leave the Lakers and stay there."

Windhorst's reference to the talks between the Lakers and the Warriors before last year's trade deadline echoed a report from Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne back in February. At the time, the duo reported that the Warriors tried to bring James to Golden State, but the Lakers and James declined.

With LA now in the midst of a slump, only time will tell what the future holds for the father-son duo of LeBron and Bronny James, and the Lakers. In the meantime, they continue battle it out in a stacked Western Conference.
