NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls likely to dismantle their 'Big Three'
The Chicago Bulls are looking to move on from their current core of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic after missing the playoffs this year. Last season, the Bulls took the league by storm last season after a strong outing from their stars, but failed to follow through this season.
According to longtime Bulls writer, there's been speculations regarding the future of the Bulls. The speculations mainly focus on the big three of LaVin, DeRozan and Vucevic, who led Chicago to a 40-42 record. They failed to win the Play-In tournament against the Miami Heat before the playoffs.
Sam Smith wrote about the future for Chicago during his time at the Draft Combine.
"I was at the Draft Combine this week and heard from an insider that he believes the Bulls are done with this Big Three." Smith wrote.
"Of course, such an observation doesn’t need Sherlock Holmes. Vučević is a free agent, DeRozan is going into his last contract season and LaVine has some huge financial seasons ahead."
Smith also went into detail regarding the rumor about the potential trade package of the Portland Trail Blazers regarding Anfernee Simons and their third pick. Based on Smith's assessment, the Bulls could be one team that might engage in trade talks to acquire someone like Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller.
Both prospects could give a ton of energy and much needed depth in the point guard and power forward positions.
"It seems to me the Bulls would have to give up at least LaVine, Caruso, Coby White or Patrick Williams and the pick to justify getting No. 3 and the sign and trade to net Grant."
Throughout the season, the Chicago Bulls had difficulty preventing their players from getting injured. Additionally, Lonzo Ball missed the entire season due to a knee injury and there has been no reports regarding his potential return on the floor.

The Chicago Bulls could select Brandon Miller in the draft
The Chicago Bulls are looking to add some young power to their roster in the next season. Based on what Smith wrote, the Bulls could be the top contender to engage with the Blazers in trading for the third pick.
The Bulls recently met with Miller following the draft lottery, where the Bulls landed on getting the 14th pick. That 14th pick, however, will be used by the Orlando Magic as part pf the trade that gave them Vucevic back in 2021.
Adding Miller could boost the team's scoring and make the front office focus on re-building around their young core.
