NBA Rumors: Russell Westbrook's agent in contact with Chicago Bulls, LA Clippers and 2 more teams
Russell Westbrook continues to dominate NBA rumors. With the 9x All-Star garnering a lot of attention from teams in the case of a buyout, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski presented some teams who could pursue the guard.
Westbrook has seen a rather interesting shift in his career trajectory in the last few years. Since leaving the OKC Thunder to join the Houston Rockets, he has bounced around almost every season.
After a rather disappointing last season with the LA Lakers, many expected the superstar to be traded in the offseason. While there were several rumors that linked him to teams like the Indiana Pacers and the Charlotte Hornets, no trade materialized.
Eventually, Westbrook found himself donning the purple and gold once more. Additionally, he also saw a complete shift in his operating capacity, as he was relegated to the bench.
That brought him some success, as he shone brightest as the leader of the bench. Unfortunately, Westbrook would eventually find himself on the trade block. As rumors finally gave way to reality, Westbrook found himself headed to Utah to help the Lakers improve their roster.
As things stand, he's largely expected to be bought out by the Jazz. In such a scenario, there are reportedly a lot of teams who have displayed an interest in Westbrook. He has been linked with the the LA Clippers and the Chicago Bulls. Wojnarowski said that the Washington Wizards and Miami Heat are also among looking to pursue Westbrook:
"He and his agent, Jeff Schwartz, took a while to talk to teams to see if there's a potential role out there for him in a contract buyout. Among the teams they've communicated with - the Bulls, the Clippers, the Wizards, the Miami Heat.
So for Russell Westbrook, with the All-Star break coming, I think there's time to think this through. None of these teams are in a real rush. It's a very lean buyout market potential. There's always a chance just finishes off the season under contract."
Wojnarowski concluded by mentioning that Westbrook and his agent are still discussing what kind of role he would have in various systems.
Given his skillset, he could be a contributor to any of the aforementioned teams. However, with the potential to play out his contract and become a free agent next season, the guard may be best served by being a bit patient.

LA Clippers could be promising landing spot for Russell Westbrook
Among the teams currently interested in Russell Westbrook, the LA Clippers have shown a lot of promise. With the Clippers having bought out John Wall, they could be in search of a solid veteran point guard.
The Clippers are a fairly reliable landing spot in other ways as well. Westbrook's former superstar teammate Paul George is currently the frontman for the Clippers. Reports have suggested that George has made attempts to bring his former teammate to the other side of LA.
Overall, Westbrook's playmaking ability and defensive upside could be a massive boost for the Clippers.
