NBA Rumors: Warriors intend to make Bob Myers the highest-paid GM in NBA history
Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers has a contract until the end of the season. Myers will become a free agent on June 30, which means any team could swipe in and sign him to a contract. However, the latest NBA rumors suggest that the Warriors are planning to make him the highest-paid GM in history.
According to C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle, Warriors ownership will finally make an offer to Myers after months of no contract negotiations. Holmes explained that their offer might not be enough to keep their longtime GM, but they are open to give him a huge payday.
"While it may not be enough to keep Bob Myers with the Golden State Warriors, multiple league sources believe that the contract offer extended to the team's president of basketball operations would make him the highest-paid general manager in the NBA," Holmes wrote.
Jake Fisher of Yahoo! Sports followed up on C.J. Holmes' report by revealing how much the Golden State Warriors are offering Bob Myers. Fisher noted that the Warriors are willing to offer Myers an annual salary of more than $10 million.
However, it does not guarantee that Myers will be back in Golden State next season. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the executive is still torn about his decision and would take some time to make it.
Myers has been with the Warriors since 2011 when he was hired as an assistant general manager after a career as a sports agent. He was promoted to general manager a year later and proceeded to build one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history.
Under Myers' tenure as GM, the Warriors have won four NBA championships in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. Golden State also made it to the NBA Finals five straight times from 2015 to 2019.

Which teams will be interested in Bob Myers if he leaves Golden State?
Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic first reported that the Golden State Warriors are bracing to not have Bob Myers next season. Myers has been rumored to be leaving the Warriors since the start of this season.
It was previously reported by The Athletic that several teams will be interested in Myers if he becomes a free agent. The report cited the LA Clippers, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards as his potential destinations.
The Athletic also reported back in January that Myers might be suffering from burnout. He could look to leave basketball for other opportunities outside the NBA.
