NBA Rumors: Zach LaVine has fans within Dallas Mavericks front office
Zach LaVine is having a down campaign with the Chicago Bulls this season. However, LaVine remains one of the best shooting guards in the NBA today. The latest rumors suggest that the two-time All-Star has fans within the Dallas Mavericks front office.
According to ESPN's Tim McMahon, LaVine might garner interest from several teams, including the Mavericks, if the Bulls make him available. LaVine is just in the first season of his five-year, $215 million contract signed in the offseason.
"I just know that there are fans of him that hold prominent positions within the Mavericks," MacMahon said on "The Lowe Post" podcast. "Again, I'm not sitting here and telling you there's some great consensus. I think there's enough fans of him where I wouldn't totally rule it out."
Zach LaVine is averaging 22.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game this season. The Chicago Bulls are still struggling, and there's rumored frustration within the locker room.
The Athletic's Shams Charania and Darnell Mayberry recently reported that there's a disconnect between LaVine and the Bulls. Some of his teammates were frustrated by his lack of focus on the defensive end. If the Bulls continue their fall from grace, it's not hard to think that they would start rebuilding and trade their stars.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks are always looking for ways to improve their roster around Luka Doncic. The Mavericks have been playing inconsistently this season, but Doncic keeps them competitive.
If the Mavericks want to return to the Western Conference finals, they will need to provide Doncic with more help. LaVine could relieve pressure off of the Slovenian superstar, but can the Dallas front office pull off a trade with the Bulls?

Zach LaVine rumored to be eyeing a move to the LA Lakers
The Chicago Bulls currently have a record of 14-19 and are just 11th in the Eastern Conference standings. The Bulls are still struggling to put together a winning streak and have been inconsistent.
They recently defeated the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks, but lost to the lowly Houston Rockets in a blowout. It has been that kind of season for the Bulls and they might enter a rebuild. One of their prized assets is Zach LaVine, who is rumored to be eyeing a move to the LA Lakers.
An anonymous NBA executive told Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports revealed that LaVine and his agents want him in Hollywood. LaVine is represented by Klutch Sports, who also represents LeBron James and Anthony Davis of the Lakers.
"LaVine wants to go to the Lakers, that has been pretty clear for a while now," the executive said. "The agents want him to be in Los Angeles. He is a UCLA guy. And they did some rattling about his contract last offseason. To kind of lay the groundwork if things blew up, which they seem to be doing."
