NBA Trade Rumors: Bojan Bogdanovic considered a trade option for LA Lakers
The LA Lakers are looking to upgrade their roster moving forward. It appears as if there's a new player of interest for the Lakers franchise.
According to a report from Shams Charania of The Atheltic, the Lakers are focused on upgrading shooting on their roster. Charania reports that the LA Lakers have had discussions with the Detroit Pistons regarding forward Bojan Bogdanovic.
"The Lakers are prioritizing shooting in their conversations with teams, and have discussed packages including salaries and a protected first-round pick for Detroit's Bojan Bogdanovic, league sources, who were granted anonymity so that they could speak freely, tell The Athletic."
Bogdanovic has been one of the most underrated players in the league over the past several seasons. In his last three seasons with the Utah Jazz, Bojan has averaged 18.4 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 39.7% from three-point range.
LA Lakers rumored to be interested in Bojan Bogdanovic
The LA Lakers have found themselves connected to a number of players in trade circles. The latest rumor has Detroit Pistons forward Bojan Bogdanovic as the focus of trade talks.
Los Angeles looked to be trending in the wrong direction early in the 2022-23 season. They were 0-5 after their first five games. Fast forward to today and the Lakers are showing some signs of life.
The Lakers are currently 11-15 this year and are preparing for a three-game homestand. With Anthony Davis and LeBron James playing at a high level, there's hope for the Lakers again. Because of that realization, the Lakers are going to need to be smart when it comes to the trade market.
While there have been plenty of names connected to the team in trade talks, Bogdanovic could be one of the smartest options. At 6'7", Bogdanovic has the tools to be a serious addition to the perimeter for the Lakers.
He won't come cheap, as Bojan has played extremely well for the Detroit Pistons this year. Bogdanovic is currently averaging 21.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game this year for the Pistons. He's also shooting an impressive 50.8% from the field and 43.7% from three-point range.
Time will tell which direction the LA Lakers go when it comes to boosting their roster. While there are plenty of names out there that might create more "excitement," Bogdanovic would be a sensational get for Los Angeles.
