Shaquille O'Neal reveals his "real name" as "The Black Stephen Curry," recreates Curry's viral full-court shot video, and sends balls flying
On "Inside the NBA," Shaquille O'Neal recreated a video of Stephen Curry that went viral recently. In the video, Curry made five full-court shots in a row during a practice session. O'Neal found the feat impressive and decided to have a go at the full-court shot attempts.
However, Shaquille O'Neal loves to make fun of things. He did just that by recreating the full-court shot video. Ernie Johnson asked Shaq if he had watched Curry's video. O'Neal confirmed and then jokingly called himself "The Black Steph Curry" before attempting to miss all the shots exaggeratedly.
"You people must not know my real name, 'The Black Steph Curry,'" Shaq said.
Obviously, Shaq meant for the video to be a parody. It was edited in a way that O'Neal would miss every shot in a hilarious manner.
Why did Shaquille O'Neal recreate Stephen Curry's video?
A video of Steph Curry shooting five full-court shots in a row went viral on social media on December 4. What caught the attention of many was that Curry could knock down all five shots as if it was nothing. Shaquille O'Neal was one of the legends who took notice of the video and decided to recreate it in a "Shaqtin' a Fool" manner.
Although Curry's video was also edited, it appears that Shaq respected it. Despite the Golden State Warriors' poor start to the season, Steph Curry has been in brilliant form. In 23 games this season, he's averaging 30.0 points, 7.0 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and one steal per game.
Unfortunately for the 2021-22 Finals MVP, Golden State (13-12) are 10th in the West. He is also unlikely to be considered for the regular season MVP given his team's position in the table.
The Warriors need to improve their regular season record significantly if Curry is to be considered for the league MVP award.
