Pop-noir singer-songwriter and harpist Lucinda Belle made a lot of people take notice when she received a 2015 Oscar nomination for "Best Song" for her contribution to the Johnny Depp film For No Good Reason. But that Oscar nod was only one of many high-profile credits for Belle, whose list of collaborators includes Annie Lennox, Jamiroquai, Robbie Williams, Seal, Raphael Saadiq, and Jarvis Cocker.

Next up on the docket for Lucinda Belle is her solo album Think Big : Like Me, as slated for release in November. The first single off Think Big: Like Me, "Where Have All The Good Men Gone," hit stores on August 31st, while a music video for Belle's second single "I’ll Be Loving You" is slated to debut in early October.

Lucinda Belle recently relocated from the UK to the San Francisco area, and this led to her becoming a big fan of the NBA's Golden State Warriors. I had the pleasure of doing Q&A with Belle about her Warriors fandom and plenty more.

More on all things Lucinda Belle can be found online at www.lucindabelle.com.

When did you first become a fan of the Warriors?

Lucinda Belle: About a year and a half ago, when I moved to the San Francisco area from the UK.

How often do you go to Warriors games?

Lucinda Belle: I haven't been to an actual game yet, but with the season coming up I have big plans to get to as many as possible. I can't wait!

Do you have a favourite Golden State Warrior?

Lucinda Belle: Yes, actually I have several, but obviously let’s lead with Steph Curry. The man can do no wrong in my eyes. I'm also a fan of Klay Thompson.

How does the upcoming Warriors season look to you?

Lucinda Belle: Well with the recent of acquisition of LeBron James to the Lakers, I’m looking forward to seeing the GSWs take on the Lakers. Should make for interesting and dynamic play.

Has your Warriors fandom ever crossed paths with your career as a musician?

Lucinda Belle: No, not just yet, perhaps that’s because I’m new to the Bay Area, but I’m friendly with a couple of Premier League football players from the UK. It would be an honour to sing the National Anthem for the GSW someday though.

Do you play ball outside of watching a lot of Warriors games?

Lucinda Belle: Nope, but I did grow up playing netball, which is the English female version of basketball. I took position Goal Attack, which means I’m a good shooter! It’s different to basketball as when you have the ball in your hand you can only pivot on one leg, you can’t run with the ball, you have to shoot or pass. I love that game! Love playing it!

Are there any teams you feel close to as strongly about as you do the Warriors?

Lucinda Belle: Probably I’d say Arsenal in the UK. I’ve always been a Gooner -- Arsenal fan -- it’s just how it’s always been and will stay!

Career-wise, what is coming up for you within the next few months?

Lucinda Belle: Exciting times -- I’m releasing my album Think Big: Like Me in November, with my first single release "Where Have All The Good Men Gone" out on August 31st. I’ll be premiering my new video for my second single "I’ll Be Loving You" in early October and I’ll be performing out over the next few months on the West Coast of Cali. So stay tuned to my socials for updates -- a San Francisco show at Hotel Utah on September 26th is coming up.

Finally, Lucinda, any last words for the kids?

Lucinda Belle: Yeah, this is the best question of all. Be kind to yourselves and to each other. Don’t be afraid to carve out your own path and be different. Being different is way cooler than fitting in!

And finally, I’ve always believed that life has to be led as authentically as possible. Otherwise, what’s the point? So go out and do what it is that makes your heart sing and if you don’t know what that is, keep searching until you find it, because that’s where happiness lies!
