Steph Curry contract: How does Golden State Warriors talisman's contract compare to other elite point guards in the NBA?
Steph Curry is currently sidelined with a left shoulder injury that's expected to keep him out of the lineup for a few weeks. Before the injury, the Golden State Warriors star was having yet another great season.
The two-time MVP is averaging 30.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. Curry is shooting 50.0% overall, 43.4% from the 3-point range and 91.9% from the free-throw line, which keeps him on pace to register only the second 50-40-90 average and score 30.0 points per game. The first player to do so? Curry himself in the 2015-16 season, when he won the only unanimous MVP in league history.
Curry is set to make $48.1 million this season, making him the highest-paid player in the NBA. There are 11 point guards, including Curry, making at least $30 million, the most of any position in the NBA. In that group, six are averaging at least 23.2 points per game this season.
Luka Doncic is the highest-scorer, averaging 32.5 points per game. The Dallas Mavericks star will earn $37.1 million this season. Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, who averages 31.3 points per game will make $30.1 million.
Damian Lillard is the highest-paid of the seven players, as he will make $42.5 million this season. Lillard averages 28.3 points per game. Trae Young follows Lillard on the list of highest-scoring point guards, as he averages 27.3 points per game. Like Doncic, Young will make $37.1 million this season.
Kyrie Irving, who averages 26.1 points per game, and De'Aaron Fox, who averages 23.2 points per game, round out the list, making $36.9 million and $30.3 million respectively. Ja Morant, who averages 26.7 points per game, is the lowest paid point guard playing at a high level, as he will make just $12.1 million this season.

Can Golden State Warriors survive Steph Curry's injury?
The Golden State Warriors have struggled this season, as they're just 15-17 and in 11th place in the Western Conference. While Steph Curry has played at an MVP level this season, he will miss the next few weeks due to a partially dislocated shoulder.
Jordan Poole has stepped up in Steph Curry's absence, but the Warriors are just 1-2 in that period.
While it won't be easy, the Warriors should be able to play .500 basketball till their eight-time All-Star returns. If they're able to do so, they will be within striking distance of the postseason, but Golden State will need to find another level if they want to repeat as champions.
