Steph Curry humbly appreciates Steve Kerr comparing him to Michael Jordan: “I don’t take that for granted”

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has returned from an injury and is right back to his old self. While that doesn't surprise many because of what he's able to do on the court, Curry continues to prove many others wrong.

He's played so well this season that Steve Kerr even said that he's the modern-day Michael Jordan.

"He's the modern MJ. I used to see this playing with the Bulls. Half the crowd has red #23 jerseys on. Now half the crowd has blue and yellow #30 jerseys. Steph transcends the game.
"He elicits emotion from people, I think because he's so awe-inspiring with his play that no matter where we go there are people cheering for him and can't wait to see him perform. Because we have never seen anything like him."

Steph Curry admitted that hearing things like this from Kerr isn't something he takes lightly.

“That’s special. I think whenever you get on that floor and you feel that energy, I don’t take that for granted.”

Steve Kerr has always had nothing but praise for Steph Curry

This isn't the first time that Kerr has praised Curry and how the Warriors guard handles himself on the court. Considering that he gets to see him nightly and has won championships because of how he plays, it certainly makes sense why Kerr feels the way he does.

“He plays the pick-and-roll game as well as anybody and then he becomes Reggie Miller as soon as he’s off the ball,” Kerr said. “And the vast majority of dominant players in this league are on-ball guys. And if they’re not, if they’re off-ball guys, they’re not dominant. They’re shooters.
"So the fact that he does both means that you constantly have to be aware of what’s happening. So he gets off the ball and he moves it and you’re on the weak side, you better be ready to go set a screen for him and when you do, you got to be ready for the defense to jump out and you got to be available for that slip."

Even when struggling, Steve Kerr believes in Steph Curry and his consistent performances. Given Curry's history, it would be tough to argue with Kerr. He's shown throughout his career that he can bounce back, even when he has off nights.

"He's obviously the greatest shooter of all time, but it happens. I've been around some of the great players of all-time in my life, in my blessed basketball existence, and I've seen it with everybody. Every great player has tough nights, it's just part of it."

The praise from Kerr isn't something Steph Curry should take for granted. There's a reason he's saying this, given the talent Kerr's played with in his own career.
