Steph Curry-like play from Jordan Poole has Klay Thompson believing in 'the stars'- "That's gotta be destiny, he plays like Steph too, it's crazy!"

Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson has heaped praise on Jordan Poole. Thompson believes that Poole has a resemblance to Steph Curry in his playing style and that the young Warriors core will help the franchise extend its dynastic run.

The Golden State Warriors have won four NBA championships in the last eight years. With the veteran trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green still around to play at their best, the team's potential depends on the Warriors youngster.

One such youngster on the team is Jordan Poole. Poole had a breakthrough season last year and played a huge part in the Warriors' march to the NBA championship. With his ability to get a bucket at any stage of the game, Thompson feels like he has a Curry-like play.

"It's like our front office doesn't miss. It's crazy. They all got something special, they all do things differently. And obviously what Jordan Poole become like, who would have thought, the splash brothers have a poole party. That's gotta be destiny. The stars were aligned for that one. My goodness. Umm he plays like Steph too. It's crazy."

The team's young core is starting to step up and their performances will potentially decide the Warriors' fate in the upcoming years.

Klay Thompson heaps praise on fellow teammate Andrew Wiggins

Four-time NBA champion and veteran Warriors star Klay Thompson also heaped praise on his fellow teammate Andrew Wiggins. With Thompson slowly making his way back from his injuries, the Warriors have relied on Andrew Wiggins to guard against the opposing team's best perimeter threat. Wiggins guarded the likes of Doncic, Tatum, Brown and Morant throughout the Warriors' playoff run.

"Wiggins, 27 now actually I think. But I'm like bro, you've been in the been here for a minute now. I remember when you were checking Kobe. I'm so grateful for Andrew though. Ohh my gosh, he makes my job so much easier. I watch him. Like bro, I can't believe you have to chase around Doncic, Tatum and Morant all game and then go get us 20 right now. I'm exhausted watching you."

Andrew Wiggins has had a career resurgance ever since he joined the Golden State Warriors. The Canadian star, who was the first pick in the 2014 NBA draft, didn't end up living up to sky-high expectations during his stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, in a more suitable role, Wiggins has really blossomed in the Warriors setup. Wiggins received his first All-Star selection last season and even started the All-Star game held in Cleveland.

Golden State Warriors look to defend their NBA championship this season

The Golden State Warriors are looking confident and dangerous as they begin their NBA championship defense against LeBron James and the LA Lakers. The Warriors' young core of Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and James Wiseman will look to gain quality rotation minutes throughout the regular season.

Andrew Wiggins, who had a career-best year last season, will look to pick things up quickly. Wiggins is the team's best two-way player and is tasked with defending the opponent's best wing/guard. Wiggins recently signed a new contract extension with the Warriors that will keep him with the team for another five years.

The Warriors' young core development will give coach Steve Kerr enough opportunities to rest his veteran stars. The likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green will look to manage their load in the regular season and head to the playoffs in full form and fitness.
