Steph Curry's sister Sydel Curry Lee makes pensive appeal urging citizens to vote for Kamala Harris: "It is serious"
Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry's sister Sydel Curry Lee is urging American citizens to back Kamala Harris' bid for the U.S. presidency in elections set for next week. She is vouching, in particular, for greater autonomy in choosing one's medical care and belives the current vice-president is the right candidate to provide it to citizens.
Sydel, who is married to Phoenix Suns guard Damion Lee, took to Instagram to make a thoughtful video appeal for support for Harris, who is currently locked in a tight race with former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nov. 5 elections.
She captioned her video with:
"This Presidential election is so important. For AUTONOMY. For families, like my own, who need options to grow their own families. To live out their dreams. We need to protect our right to decide our own medical care and vote for Kamala Harris. It is serious and the time is now! Vote!"
Harris' campaign emphasizes bodily autonomy and affordable care as among her priorities is if she wins. This is perceived to be in contrast to Trump's by some, who, according to them is not too involved in healthcare.
Both Harris and Trump are in the homestretch of their respective campaigns before they leave it to the American people to decide.
Harris replaced incumbent U.S. President Joe Biden, who withdrew from his re-election bid, as the Democratic candidate. Republican Trump, meanwhile, is making another run at the presidency after being voted in as the 45th U.S. president from 2017 to 2021.
Steph Curry supports Kamala Harris, believes she can unify the country
Sydel Curry Lee is not only the Kamala Harris supporter in her family as eldest brother Steph Curry, too, is rallying behind the candidcacy of the current vice-president. He believes that Harris has what it takes to unify the United States and help it move forward.
Curry spoke at the Democratic National Convention back in August after helping Team USA win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, affirming his support for Harris.
He said:
"Together we can do great things and continue to inspire the world. That is why I believe that Kamala as president could bring that unity back and continue to move our country forward... The Oval Office would suit her well. In the words of Michelle Obama, do something. Go vote. Be active, Let's show it in November like never before."
Steph Curry has developed a good relationship throughout the years with Harris, who hails from Oakland and is a big supporter of the Golden State Warriors.
Prior to leaving for the Paris Olympics, Harris visited Curry and the rest of Team USA in their training in Las Vegas and gave her words of encouragement.
Team USA then moved on to sweep its way to the gold medal, with Steph Curry playing a key role, averaging a team-best 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 23.3 minutes.
