Stephen Curry, Warriors agree to richest deal in NBA history - report
After helping the Golden State Warriors to a second title in three seasons, Stephen Curry has been rewarded extremely handsomely.
Curry and the Warriors on Friday reportedly agreed to a five-year "supermax" contract worth $201million.
It is the richest deal in NBA history.
Point guard Curry, a two-time league MVP, ceded some of the scoring responsibility this past season with Kevin Durant on board, but still averaged 25.3 points and 6.6 assists per game.
Teams around the league have been wheeling and dealing this week trying to get a roster somewhat comparable to Golden State's, but the Warriors will remain heavy favorites to repeat.
The next order of business for Golden State will be securing Durant long term. The 2017 NBA Finals MVP declined to opt into his contract with the Warriors this week, but is expected to re-sign.
With Curry locked up, and Durant likely soon to follow, Golden State better get used to hanging up banners in Oracle Arena.
