Chandler Parsons & Stephen Jackson Feud Online Over Grizzlies' Firing
What's the story?
Stephen Jackson and Chandler Parsons get into an online argument after Memphis Grizzlies fired David Fizdale.
In case you didn't know...
During the 2016 offseason, the Memphis Grizzlies gave Chandler Parsons a max. contract worth $94.5 million for over four years, luring him from the Dallas Mavericks and early suitors like the Portland Trailblazers.
The heart of the matter...
Former NBA player Stephen Jackson had some comments on the firing of now former coach David Fizdale by the Grizzlies. Although he didn't take any name in his first post, his direct indication was to Chandler Parsons as shared the following statements on Instagram:
He took a direct shot at Parsons by adding the words "Fire chandler Parsons".
But, Jackson wasn't done yet as he posted another post, this time with a video.
Chandler Parsons eventually responded which lead to an interesting conversation between the two:
Jackson decided to have the last say in this feud:
Parsons' previous three seasons, two with the Dallas Mavericks and the most recent one with the Grizzlies, ended early due to knee surgeries on his knees.
What's next?
General manager, Chris Wallace has named Associate head coach J.B. Bickerstaff as interim head coach till the end of this regular season after firing David Fizdale.
The Grizzlies are in all sorts of trouble as they have lost 8 games in a trot and have sunk down to the 12th spot in the Western Conference. With the increase in the competition this season in the conference, the Grizzlies have to find a way to sort out all their troubles or else they are likely to sit out the Playoffs this season.
Author's take
Although Parsons has not lived up to his contract's expectations and has been injured now for 3 consecutive seasons, he cannot be directly blamed for David Fizdale's firing.
