“They just went out and got a bigger, better Trae Young” - Skip Bayless says the Atlanta Hawks acquiring 1x All-Star is an indictment of Trae Young
Skip Bayless believes the Atlanta Hawks have put Trae Young on trial by acquiring Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs.
On the show Undisputed, Bayless described Murray as a "bigger" and "better" version of Young.

Young has elevated Atlanta over the past couple of years and it is believed that Murray's arrival will take some of the burden off the Hawks guard's shoulders.
Skip Bayless, however, feels that this trade is an indictment on Young. Instead of helping Young, Bayless believes Murray will become the team's No. 1 option.
“[Young] led the whole league in turnovers and he’s a liability on defense. And now you have a 6’4 point guard who led the league in steals, bingo.”
How will Dejounte Murray's arrival impact Trae Young's production?
Both Murray and Young play a similar style of basketball and having them together on the court should be a huge positive for Atlanta, at least on paper.
Up until now, Young was the Hawks' only real offensive threat. But with Murray's arrival, Young's offensive production could decrease. This, in turn, could accentuate his turnover rate and problems on defense.
Murray, who led the league in steals last season, will undoubtedly improve Atlanta's porous defense. He will also take some of the scoring burden off Young.
As such, Young can continue to do what he does best, which is orchestrating the offense, while Murray focuses on helping the team's defense.
As things stand, Young and Murray should be able to work well together and elevate the Hawks. Moreover, having a healthy competition between two young players will bode well for the Atlanta Hawks in the long run.
