The Portland Trail Blazers are a great basketball team and it is safe to call them an underrated as they deserve a lot more credit for the success they are having this year. The Blazers find themselves at the fifth spot in West at 32-20 and are expected to make some noise in the 2019 NBA playoffs.

Damian Lillard is averaging 26.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game this season and has been playing lights out basketball. His backcourt mate, C J McCollum has also been in his elements and is averaging 21.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

The Blazers have been phenomenal so far but to go deep in the playoffs and eventually win the championship, they need at least one more All-Star player as there is no one excluding Lillard currently on this roster who has been named an All-Star.

This is what happened just three days ago:

With Rich Paul notifying the Pelicans that Davis has no intention of signing a contract extension with the franchise, the All-Star's sweepstakes are officially on. Several teams are expected to throw in their hat and even though teams like Los Angeles, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks have emerges as favorites, don't expect the Blazers to stay out of contention.

According to Basketball Insiders' Steve Kyler:

A dark horse in all of it might be the Portland Trail Blazers. Leagues source have labeled the Blazers as being aggressive in trying to find one more star-level guy to pair with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. Given the youth, ending contracts and future picks the Blazers could offer, they could be an interesting option, especially if it does not cost Lillard or McCollum.

This should make the fans of Portland Trail Blazers happy and if they can get Davis to play alongside Lillard and McCollum, the team's chances of winning a title will be at an all-time high.
