During their Olympic campaign, Haliburton played a limited role for Team USA averaging 8.8 minutes of playtime across the three appearances he made for the team. He mostly served as the team's 12th man and did not get playing time in the semifinal and final.

After his first Olympic win, Haliburton took to X, formerly Twitter, to jokingly address his limited role for Team USA.

"When you ain’t do nun on the group project and still get an A 🥇," Haliburton tweeted.

Tyrese Haliburton was chosen for the Team USA Olympic squad after his spectacular performance in the 2023-24 NBA season. He averaged a double-double stat line of 20.1 points, 10.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals to lead the Pacers to the sixth seed in the East.
