What is the UBA Pro Basketball League?
The UBA Pro Basketball League is a tournament organized by the United Basketball Alliance, a.k.a. UBA. The 2015 edition of the league kicks off on the 17th of August in Hyderabad. The main aim of the UBA is to promote the sport of basketball at the grassroots level in India by getting profesionals teams into the game.
There will be eight pro teams in the fray with two matches held per day. The semifinals will be held on the 29th of July while the widely anticipated final will be on 30th July.

With the broadcast, merchandise and sponsorship rights to the self-governing Indian University Basketball Program having already been acquired, the UBA Pro Basketball League is poised to become the next big thing for basketball in India.
In order to bring the sport to as many viewers across India as possible, the UBA is currently in the process of securing television broadcasting rights. Even merchandising opportunities are being looked into.
Similar to the college basketball system in the United States, the UBA is looking to popularize its all-India tournament to help the basketball fans in the country enjoy and take up the sport.
