Video: Danny Green sets NBA record as Spurs close in on title

Danny Green set a new NBA record by scoring his 23rd three pointer of the finals as San Antonio Spurs defeated Miami Heat 114-104 to take a 3-2 lead in the series. Green has now scored the most threes in NBA finals.

Danny Green, San Antonio Spurs Guard:
(On when he found out he set the NBA Finals record for most three pointers).
“After the game today I found out. I’m lucky enough, blessed enough to have the opportunity to be on this stage. I owe it all to my team-mates, they’ve done a great job of finding me and getting me open, and as I said, luckily it seems everything is going right for me. I’m feeling truly blessed right now. There’s got to be a higher power. I owe it all to God. The basketball gods are in our favour right now.”

Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs Guard:
(On Danny Green).
“He’s been playing great, you know he’s been making shots. I can’t believe he’s still open at this moment of this series. They are still trapping me and doubling Timmy (Duncan), and Danny is wide open. He’s shooting the ball well. If you are going to leave Danny wide open, he’s going to make threes.”

Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat Guard:
“I mean, this is the kind of team that I feel capitalises on any mistake you make. So if you’re half a second late, they capitalise on it. Give him (Danny Green) credit. He’s making some hell of a shots. He’s also getting some stuff in transition as well. They’re running a lot and he’s the beneficiary of Tony Parker’s penetration. And he’s getting some shots but he’s making them, give them credit, man. He’s knocking them down. Not many guys have shot the ball this well, especially in The Finals, that I can remember. So we do got to do a better job like we did in Game 4 of knowing where the shooters are at all times. He got away from us a few times tonight, and he knocked them down.”
