Kawhi Leonard was not effective in the first two games of the finals, but made an impact in the final three games to seal the victory for the Spurs. He also made LeBron James work hard for his points. He averaged 17.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals on 61.2% shooting from the field.
He was named the Finals MVP and was handed the trophy by 11-time NBA Champion Bill Russell.
Gregg Popovich’s leadership played a key role in Spurs winning the championship. He won Coach of the year award for this season.
